Huntington Beach officials are giving residents, businesses and government agencies until June 17th to claim checks that may be owed to them. If the checks go unclaimed within three years, "Surf City" will be allowed to keep the money under state law. Every year, the city treasurer receives a list of unclaimed checks ranging from 15-hundred to two-thousand-dollars. Huntington Beach could keep as much as 13-grand in unclaimed money this year.
