Celebrities Giving back

Celebrities have two options being in the public eye, either use there status for personal gain and
promotion or to give back to the community and use their celebrity for good.

Shakira is one of the many that has taken the high road, she recently donated $45 million dollars to Nicaragua and Peru to address recent natural disasters there, and an additional $5 million will go to educational projects benefiting children across Latin America. 

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill held a benefit concert For Flood recovery on June 22.  With a lineup of big hitters such as Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus.  McGraw and Hill stated "The damage that we've seen to people's homes and the effect that the flooding has had on their lives in unimaginable," With numbers such as twenty-three deaths and $1.5 billion dollars in property damage, this concert was able to aid the more than $4 million in federal assistance.
