Truth about FAT Grams! 2nd Peter 3:14b

My Sister sent me this email from her trainer. I thought I'd post it to help those of US who are always looking for encouragement to stay healthy.

Hopefully you are learning that there is not a certain type of food that causes fat in the body. TOO MUCH of any food that the body doesn't use is what causes fat. If you eat more than you burn, it is all stored as fat cells. That being said, it is important to know that fat contains 9 calories per gram. Protein and Carbohydrates only have 4 calories per gram. That is why foods with higher fat content also have a higher calorie content. So, even though eating fat won't make you fat in and of itself, eating the same amount of a fattening food actually has more calories than that same amount of food without the fat.

DEVOTIONAL I love the verse today. If Christ were to "find" us in our daily lives - what would He find? Are we living our lives "in peace, spotless and blameless?" The truth is that He does know every move we make and thought we have...this isn't to scare us, but to motivate us to live in a disciplined manner. Discipline is important to our physical health and ultimately to our spiritual health each day. Our focus this week should encourage us to live disciplined lives.
