Children in Orange sell 'Hope Juice for Japan'

From the Orange County Register.  Way to go Lucy!!!

Four times a year, third-grader Lucy Lundell crouches under her desk at Cambridge Elementary and braces against an imaginary earthquake.

She puts one hand over her head to shield herself from hypothetical falling debris, and places her other hand on the desk to brace it against theoretical tremors.

But last week, those distant dangers were made real by videos of the earthquake damage in Japan and relief efforts she saw on TV and on the Internet.

Lucy, who is 8, wanted to do something about it. So she enlisted the help of her mother and sister and started selling "Hope Juice for Japan" in front of their house for a dollar a cup. They raised $102.15 for the Red Cross Monday afternoon.

The amount may not seem like much, but Carrie Lundell, her mother, said it's not the money that's important - it's the engagement that matters.
