Cutting the dropout rate in half in Orange County metro area could inject billions of dollars into the local economy, according to a new study. The Alliance for Excellence in Education, a Washington, D.C. think tank that advocates for resources targeting at-risk students in middle school and high school tracked the economic potential of bolstering graduation rates across the area. Last year Orange County's dropout rate was 16%, but the study shows that the OC metro area has both the highest potential for economic gains if they can curb dropouts. Read the full report.
